  Take Time Off Turns out, it’s not just sun damage or old age that causes wrinkles—every frown, furrow, squint, or smile contributes to the folds and furrows that create lasting lines. Botulinum toxin type A (aka wrinkle relaxers) are injectable neurotoxins that temporarily block nerve impulses to the muscles, causing them to relax. The result? A softer, smoother, younger-looking complexion with zero downtime. Botox® Forehead lines, crow’s feet, and stubborn wrinkles are natural, but that doesn’t mean you have to live with them. Botox® works by weakening the facial muscles that control wrinkle-causing expressions, dramatically smoothing the affected area over time. Manufacturer Allergan As the first product of its kind to go to market, Botox® is the most well-known cosmetic treatment for reducing the appearance of facial wrinkles. Besides wrinkle relaxing, Botox® has a variety of other usages helping to treat conditions such as: Chronic migraines Severe sweating Overactive bladder Cervical Dystonia Blepharospasm (uncontrollable blinking) Strabismus (eyes pointing in different directions) A Botox® treatment can take as little as 15 minutes, with minimal to no downtime is needed after an appointment. To ensure treatment is as pain free as possible, your practitioner will use a very small needle and apply numbing cream if necessary. You will begin to see results within one week after treatment. Results will continue to become more visible daily, with full results after approximately two weeks. To maximize results from any neurotoxin injection, a combination treatment may be recommended. For dramatically improved skin texture, combine Botox® with a chemical peel, microneedling, or laser treatment. For improved volume or structure, combine Botox® with the right dermal filler for you. Since there is no one-size-fits-all formula for skincare, our providers work closely with each patient to meet their individual goals. If you have one or more of the following facial wrinkles, you may be a good candidate for Botox®: Common facial expressions such as smiling, frowning, squinting, and even chewing can lead to wrinkles that make you look tired or angry even when you’re not. Any adult experiencing these unwanted signs of aging may be a candidate for Botox® injections. A Botox® candidate should be a person who is physically healthy, who is not pregnant or nursing, with no history of neuromuscular disease such as multiple sclerosis. Botox® can also be used to prevent wrinkles from forming. Preventative Botox® treatments can begin earlier in the aging process, as early as in your twenties. The effects of Botox® typically last between 3-6 months, varying from person to person. Dysport® If wrinkles and expression lines are giving you something to frown about, Dysport® might be the right treatment for you. Dysport® starts to reduce the appearance of wrinkles within just a few days after the first treatment. Dysport® is an FDA-approved cosmetic injectable primarily used for treating wrinkles and signs of aging. This popular treatment has been clinically proven to smooth the appearance of crow’s feet and frown lines while maintaining the natural look and movement of the rest of your face. Possibly the longest duration neurotoxin, Dysport® treats moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows by reducing specific muscle activity. One injection into each of the five points between and above the eyebrows temporarily prevents muscle contractions that cause frown linesThe majority of users see improvement in just two to three days after treatment.

Juvéderm® The Juvéderm® line of fillers is a family of hyaluronic acid injectable dermal fillers. Juvéderm® products are primarily used for softening wrinkles and folds, lifting sagging skin, and volumizing lips. Manufacturer Allergan The Juvéderm® family is a robust brand with a variety of fillers formulated to address different concerns. The Juvéderm® product line includes: Juvederm Volbella® XCJuvederm® Ultra XCJuvederm Voluma® XCJuvederm® XCJuvederm Vollure™ XC To make the treatment as comfortable as possible, Juvéderm® products are formulated with lidocaine. Additionally, your provider will likely apply light numbing cream to the area and use a small needle to ensure as painless of treatment as possible. Juvéderm® injections can take as little as 15 minutes, appointments can run longer depending on the number of areas treated. Results are typically seen immediately, however, swelling, bruising, tenderness may occur at the injection site and will usually subside within seven days. The Juvéderm® line includes a range of products designed to target specific areas of the face, formulated based on the amount of volume that is required. Juvéderm® Volbella® XC targets the lip area to soften lines and add understated volume Juvéderm® Ultra XC also targets the lip area, and is designed to add noticeable volume and fullness Juvéderm® Voluma® XC is meant to target the cheek and midface to increase volume and definition Juvéderm®® XC targets wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds, and is more subtle than Juvéderm® Vollure™ XC Juvéderm® Vollure™ XC targets moderate to severe facial folds and wrinkles. Juvéderm® products are hyaluronic acid based fillers developed using Hylacross technology, which gives them their signature fluid, workable texture. Juvéderm® Ultra XC products also contain lidocaine, a popular numbing agent, to make for a more comfortable injection experience. Juvéderm® fillers can have results lasting up to a year with full treatments. However touchups may be required to maintain volume depending on where the product was placed and the severity of the treated area. Restylane® The Restylane® family of dermal fillers used to treat fine lines and wrinkles, and add volume to the cheeks, lips, and various other areas. Restylane® was the first hyaluronic acid filler approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and has since grown into a diverse family of fillers. Manufacturer Galderma The Restylane® line of fillers includes a wide variety of products formulated to achieve specific outcomes. The Restylane® family of fillers includes: Restylane Kysse Restylane Silk Restylane Lyft Restylane Restylane-L Restylane Refyne Restylane Defyne Treatment time varies depending on the number of areas to be treated, but can be as short as 15 minutes. Numbing cream will typically be applied prior to injections in order to make the treatment as comfortable as possible. Restylane® filler is injected using a very fine needle or a micro-cannula to achieve your desired outcomes, and your provider may gently massage the area after the initial injection. After your treatment, results are visible immediately. For the first 1-2 weeks, it is normal to experience side effects such as swelling, bruising, redness, or tenderness at the injection site. To ensure that you are a good candidate for hyaluronic acid dermal fillers, your provider will have an in-depth consultation with you prior to treatment. Each of the Restylane® fillers is designed to provide natural, lasting results for specific areas of concern. Restylane® Kysse and Restylane® Silk both target the lips and wrinkles surrounding the mouth known as perioral wrinkles. Restylane® Lyft is indicated for moderate to severe wrinkles and volume loss. Some of the most common targeted areas include nasolabial folds, cheeks, and hands. Restylane®, Restylane®-L , and Restylane® Refyne are versatile fillers with varying consistencies and volumes. They are all used to target multiple facial concerns, including moderate to severe wrinkles, facial folds, and, in some cases, lips. Restylane® Defyne is used to target facial wrinkles and folds, as well as the chin. Chin augmentation using Restylane® Devyne balances the profile for patients with chin retrusion. The Restylane® family of fillers is composed of non-animal hyaluronic acid and is developed to mimic the hyaluronic acid that occurs naturally in the human body. Restylane® fillers vary in volume and texture in order to take on the natural look and feel of the treated area.

The fat cells naturally metabolize after the injection, leaving behind a more sculpted and defined profile. Number of treatments differ from patient to patient depending on the amount of fat in the treatment area. You can see results in up to two weeks. In most cases, 2-6 treatments are recommended with approximately one month between treatments. Sculptra® Sculptra® stimulates the body’s natural collagen production to help restore facial fullness and volume. Manufacturer Galderma Over time, due to natural aging, our bodies produce less collagen. This, combined with environmental factors like sun exposure, often leaves us with less elasticity and volume as well as visible signs of aging. Sculptra® works over time to gradually stimulate collagen production from within, restoring the skin's natural fullness and correcting wrinkles, folds, fat loss, and many other signs of aging. Sculptra®’s non-invasive treatments can last anywhere from 15-40 minutes. Typically, your provider will apply a numbing cream to the treatment area and will use a very fine needle for injecting. Sculptra® is not a quick fix, results become apparent over time through a series of treatments. Though results appear gradually, full correction can achieve results lasting up to two years. • Chemical Peels

  Chemical peels can be done on the face, neck, and hands to reveal radiant skin. They are used for many purposes- diminishing imperfections such as fine lines, wrinkles, sun damage, mild scars, certain types of acne, and melasma. We have a variety of peels to choose from, your provider will consult with you to choose the right peel. About Chemical Peels Chemical peels reveal smoother skin below the surface. We offer a diverse selection of chemical peels, at different intensities, that target a variety of concerns. What can I expect? Chemical peels are a quick way to improve the radiance and elasticity of your skin. This is a non or minimally invasive procedure, the impact and recovery time depends on the type of peel that you do. You may see some exfoliation post the peel, this is expected. Some downtime is generally expected but this can vary depending on the type of peel. You and your provider will determine the best option for the results you are looking for. Your skin will be cleaned thoroughly and then the chemical solution will be applied to your skin. You may experience a slight burning sensation that lasts up to ten minutes, followed by a mild stinging sensation. Cool compresses may ease this sensation. You usually will experience some peeling, for up to a week. Targeted areas Chemical peels are typically done on the face but are also commonly used on the hands and décolletage. They can address a variety of facial concerns including, fine lines, wrinkles, discoloration, age spots, scars and other skin imperfections. How long does it last? Results vary based on treatment, some peels can produce results after one session, but many require a treatment series (usually three peels) to get optimal results. You may repeat some peels until you get the results you are after but ultimately all chemical peels help skin look noticeably brighter, smoother and more even.

• Microneedling

  Microneedling helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and can have a positive effect on uneven skin tone and acne scars. Often providers will do Microneedling with PRF (Platelet Rich Fibrin) which helps stimulate the skin on multiple levels by encouraging cell renewal and promoting collagen and elastin production. About Microneedling Microneedling may help with acne, hyperpigmentation, scars, skin laxity, crepey appearing skin, and other facial concerns. It may lead to softer, younger-looking skin with fewer signs of aging. What can I expect? It is a relatively quick procedure performed (mostly) on the face, it can take anywhere from 15 minutes up to an hour depending on the treatment area. There is little down time and patients are usually fully recovered by the next day. The skin is pricked with tiny sterilized needles which cause your body to make more collagen and elastin, which thickens and tightens the skin, resulting in a smoother appearance. PRF (Platelet Rich Fibrin) can also be applied after these micro injuries to further rejuvenate the skin. Targeted areas Microneedling is performed most frequently on the face but can be used all over the body to improve the appearance of skin. How long does it last? Changes can develop over the course of a few days or several weeks after treatment. Visible improvements can appear for up to six months after the original treatment. People may need up to 4 to 6 treatments to see the results they are looking for.
